BY BHSB JOURNALISM STUDENTS

We are students of Journalism at Bronx High School of Business and we’re launching this blog to inform people about what’s going on in our world - from our perspective.

We are from different countries (the United States, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and several other places), and we have an age range of between 14 and 18.

But we will work as a team to put our knowledge, skills and strategies in play for a better understanding of our world and to write better articles every time we post.

We will post news about our school to let the community know about it. We intend to go far and wide to write our articles. We are going to go out into the real world and interview different types of people, including family members and friends – as well as teachers and students of our school.

Valuable

We’ll research different people and situations. And we will edit and fix our articles before we publish them.

We are doing this because information is valuable and in this day an era we use the Internet to look up to find out what or how things occurred, hence the blog.

We’re learning about this by taking in the Journalism class. We’re doing this to practice the journalistic techniques we are obtaining in the class.

Why does the world turn? Why are politics having such a big impact nowadays. Why iOS the economy how it is? These are the questions we want to ask, and this is why we are in the Journalism class.

We hope to post an article at least once a week – and more if we we have that much to say. We will also post articles on special occasions that we don't want to miss. There are lots of national holidays we want to celebrate, such as Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July and New Year.

Operating

We’ll be operating in the neighborhood, looking at leading articles from around the world, and collecting information from the Internet.

We’ve got our eye on reporting from three locations in particular: the first is Yankee Stadium. We’d like to go to report on the two major professional sports played there: baseball and soccer.

Second is the Bronx Zoo, because there are so many things we can cover and we would like to investigate there in the wake of the gorilla Harambe’s death - which occurred at Cincinnati Zoo.

Third is the Botanical Gardens in Queens. It’s a tourism hotspot for nature freaks. It’s where beautiful exotic plants live.

In our next article we will give you little profiles about each one of us.
